Collaborating for Global Impact

The ReFood Network is a worldwide alliance of advocates, champions, grassroots organizers, local food actors and implementers all driven by the same purpose to impact systemic change in the global food system and achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Representing 11 countries and 4 continents, each ReFood team member brings their experience and expertise from leading their individual local food initiatives to strengthen our collective knowledge and power in creating food systems change.

Meet the co-creators of this outstanding collective solution

We began the journey of our Action Agenda in the Food Systems Game Changers Accelerator program by Thought for Food where we officially presented the final body of work during a side event of the UN Food Systems Summit. Our cohort had a large pool of exceptional change makers. They were local actors from around the world with diverse backgrounds all united under one purpose; To build resilient local food communities.

Stefano Gonnelli Founder- Biodistrict Valdera

In recognition of Cohort 18's outstanding dedication and collaborative efforts, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Stefano Gonnelli, the visionary Founder of Biodistrict Valdera in Italy. It was his pioneering project that sowed the seeds of inspiration for self-reliant communities, connected, circular and regenerative local food communities. Together, with the collective expertise of our collaborators, we've achieved something truly transformative, a game-changing initiative known as 'ReFood Communities'. This accomplishment stands as a testament to the power of unity and shared vision.
